Key Parameters & Clinical Significance

Color	Parameter	Clinical Significance
	Blood	Urinary Tract Infection, trauma, renal mass, glomerular pathologies, malignancy, radiation, catheterizations, urethritis The urine blood test detects the presence of red blood cells (hematuria), hemoglobin, or myoglobin. These are not normally present in urine.
	Bilirubin	Liver disease or biliary obstruction, Obstructive Jaundice Bilirubin is a breakdown product of hemoglobin that is processed by the liver and excreted into bile. It is not normally present in urine.
	Urobilinogen	Disturbance of liver functions and liver damage, cirrhosis, viral hepatitis, hemolytic anemia Urobilinogen is a byproduct formed from the breakdown of bilirubin in the intestine and is partially reabsorbed into the bloodstream and excreted in urine.
	Ketone	Diabetes, Metabolic abnormalities, starvation, vomiting, febrile states Ketones are produced when the body breaks down fat for energy due to insufficient glucose availability. They are normally absent or present only in trace amounts in urine.
	Protein	Urinary Tract Infection, diabetes and trauma Protein is normally absent or present only in very low amounts in urine. The presence of protein (proteinuria) may indicate abnormal kidney function.
	Nitrite	Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) or Kidney infection Nitrite in urine is not normally present and is formed when certain bacteria convert nitrate to nitrite.
	Glucose	Diagnostic value for diabetes and acute renal failure, Diabetes mellitus Glucose is normally filtered by the kidneys and almost completely reabsorbed, so it is typically absent or present only in very low levels in urine.
	pH	Reference for the body status and other test results. Urine pH reflects the acidity or alkalinity of urine, which can vary depending on diet, metabolism, and overall health.
	Specific Gravity	Indication of hydration status Urine specific gravity reflects the concentration of dissolved substances in urine, indicating the kidney’s ability to concentrate or dilute urine.
	Leukocytes	Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) or Kidney infection or possibly a tumor. Leukocytes (white blood cells) are not normally present in significant amounts in urine. Their presence indicates inflammation or infection in the urinary tract.
	Ascorbic Acid(Vitamin C)	Higher concentration in urine samples can lead to false negative results. Ascorbic acid is not a diagnostic marker, but its presence in urine can interfere with certain test results.
